I don't like having an "extra deep" mattress because it's hard to find sheets and mattress covers that are really deep enough to fit and stay on. My experience with many sheets has been they list a certain depth on the container but it can barely stretch to fit and stay on. Same thing with the mattress cover I've had most recently. I really have to stretch the fabric to get it around the bottom edge of the mattress, now the material is finally tearing. I was very leery about this product, especially because of the incredibly low price. I even emailed the seller before ordering it. They got back to me very promptly, saying just to be sure they'd measure it again so we had a couple emails back and forth.
I'm pleasantly surprised at the fit and quality. My mattress is about 13 inches deep and this cover fits very easily with room to spare so I can easily believe it would fit a 16 inch deep mattress, the depth stated in the article description. The quality seems fine to me. The top quilted part is just as thick as my previous mattress cover for which I paid more. I expect this will hold up better than my last one because I won't have to continuously stretch it.
I purchased this product for a furnished apartment t I rent out. It works as described, protects the mattress from surface dirt and dander. It is not very cushiony, but I wasn't looking for that. I just needed an additional barrier between the sheets and mattress, to keep it in good condition. I searched at stores all over and could not find a king mattress pad for less than $36. At under $20, this was a steal! And prime shipping was free, so this is aces in my book
